I still find it rather amazing.. How one moment all's well with the world, everything's bright and sunny, smiley.. then with the flash and crack of thunder, a gleaming set of carnivorous teeth appear to descend over your head, noting also that the sky has turned dark and cloudy too. There wasn't even a cloud prior to this!
Ok, so the meteorological station didn't predict this, and the surface wasn't prepared for the crisis. Next thing u noe, we have land with everything on it washed away, the fertile topsoil's gone, even the roots of the plants previously are gone. nothing but newly-settled weeds now.
Was it really a disaster just waiting to happen? Sure, I alwiz felt that we should all cordon off a certain country and genocidically nuke the inhabitants away, but am i really that bad? It all coulda been avoided, but would the end still be the same? cos the problems still exist, and that IS the problem.

Kendo Camp & Nauhia
Kendo Camp
The National Training Squad for Singapore Kendo Club (NTS) had a half-stay-in camp over the Christmas weekend. Three sessions per day including morning basic practice, afternoon competitive shiai and late afternoon technique practice. What made it tough was that the Japanese senseis were always there. They pushed us to get through it. Sure it wasn't as tough as I had initially thought it would be, perhaps cos we had several guests with us, and expectations were thus reduced, but still, to have gotten through it was an achievement in itself. To be honest, one, if not the only objective I had for this camp was to get thru it. Which is why I had problems trying to identify a more worthy objective when we were asked about it during the camp itself. Still, the end was exhilarating.
So previously, where my feelings for Xmas seemed to be winding down, and it has become less of an important occasion, I now have allowed Kendo to come in to clash with it too. Ah well, make use of the holiday rite? It was a pretty good xmas, tho considering I had less presents to open than my traveldaddy, it was quite jealous-making. =P
However, I managed to let Shermy go thru MY Xmas with me, cos of the coincidence of the holiday and the camp. It was probably what got me thru the camp perhaps? =)

Conversations with Shermy (aka Aslan's Rezzing scene)
So yea, Sherm and I went to watch Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe today. She utterly loved it, I tot it was a nice fantasy tale with excellent effects and fantastical sword-work on the part of the CGI Centaur General and excellent camera-work that allowed the White Queen, Tilda Swinton, to look good wielding dual swords in her beautiful battle scene with Peter.
Over dinner, Shermy had some comments with regards to Aslan's Resurrection scene, she thought that it was far too unglamourous. In the movie, it looked to us as tho dead-Aslan just waited patiently for the 2 sobbing gals to get off his body and turn their back before quietly (well almost, he broke the stone table whilst sneaking off) going over the crest of the hill to the makeup room at the back, don a new wig and strut forward bathed in the glow of the well-timed rising sun.
Sherm put forward that they could've made CGI hair grow back and him rising up in a burst of light or smtg or other.. more glamourous la!
I tot our interpretation was cute still! =)
